Marda Loop is, of course, buzzing with enough little restaurants that there is something there no matter what your budget or what you’re in the mood for. It’s walkable, so if you’ve got the time, you can stroll around until you find what you’re looking for. But if you’re in a rush, here’s a guide to some of the best eats Marda Loop has to offer.
Belmont Diner - 2008 33 Avenue SW
Like any really delicious brunch spot, it’s really busy during peak hours, especially on weekends, so try to time your visit right. They serve absolutely great coffee, delicious bottomless hashbrowns and bottomless toast. Holy crap!
Anew Table - 3574 Garrison Gate SW
If you’ve got it in your budget to have a set menu experience with wine pairings, Anew Table is going to be your dream. The ingredients are local and fresh, the menu is constantly changing, and the servers will give you thorough but non-pretentious descriptions of everything.
The Farmer’s House - 2138 33 Avenue SW
Another brunch place, but while the Belmont Diner has a trendy, vintage thing going on, The Farmer’s House is more about a homestyle, wholesome environment that is really comforting. The menu is fairly small, but the portions are big and the food is made with care.
Globefish Sushi & Izakaya - 2009 33 Avenue SW
Globefish is a bit of an expensive sushi place, but their rolls are high quality and very fresh, for Calgary sushi.
